Carissa's Wierd- I Before E

Carissa's Wierd is now a defunct seattle band that there original members are now members of band of horses and grand archives.  They are a depressing slowcore group of individuals but they make perfect music for driving by yourself.  It is a live album, but barely sounds like it.  I'll post more of them in the future.

Flying Lotus- Los Angeles

Flying Lotus is Steven Ellison, a mad professor when it comes to bleeps, clicks, and bops.  He is most known for the music on Adult Swim on cartoon network.  Very good experiment beats and what not.

Four Tet- Rounds

This album is currently on rotation on my ipod.  It's all electronic beats, so rhyme time singing stuff is no-no.  I cannot recommend downloading this album enough.
The track "As Serious As Your Life" is an instant hook, so download it now.

Mirah- C'mon Miracle

Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn, known by her stage name as Mirah, is my favorite female artist on K Records.  This lo-fi hawtstufffsoopercutiepie throws down on this album.  I suggest listening to the track "Jerusalem" first, which is a catchy lo-fi homage to Jerusalem freedom religion fighting? IDK how to describe it, but it's gewd.  C'mon Miracle is awesome!

The Unicorns- Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?

Dr. Octagon- Octagonecologyst

I first heard Dr. Octagon when I rented skate session for the playstation back in the day.  His song "Blue Flowers" is featured on the game.  Dr. Octagon is a fictional character created by the one and only Kool Keith.   He has a very macabre and bizarre sense of lyricism that is often random and abstract which gives him a characteristic that separates him from majority of hip hop.  Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's bumpin'.

Drawing Trees - Grocery Store

Year: 2009
Similar: Them, Roaringtwenties, People Dick
If any of you liked Them, Roaringtwenties which I posted a while back, then this will interest you. Frank Broder is the guitarist of them.. and this is his extremely recent solo effert. If you like pretty melodies this is your album. I waited and waited for months for this to come out and when it did, I was far from dissapointed

American Football - 1999

Year: 1999
Genre: Great Indie Rock
Similar: Owen, Love of Everything
Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/40922199/AFAF.rar

This album got me into tha Kinsellas. Very much different from Cap'n Jazz, Owls etc. For all you 'angsty' teens, this is a much better choice than Bright Eyes.

Cap'n Jazz - Analphabetapolothology

Year: 1994
Similar: Braid, Owls, The Promise Ring
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?whnz4z4kgg2 (Disc 1)

Okay, I don't even know where to start with these guys. Even though this right here is the beginning and the end, it's their anthology, every song they ever recorded. The first 14 tracks are right from their one and only infamous LP, Shmap'n Shmazz. The official title is almost to long to type(Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards In The Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On, And Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over).
I'm sure very few of you actually know the impact that this very young band had on independent music. This right here was the start, nobody had heard anything like this in 1994 (as a matter of fact the band started in 1989 but their full length wasn't released until then). If the name Tim, or Mike Kinsella rings a bell (American Football, Owls, Make Believe, Owen, Joan of Arc, Friend/Enemy etc.) then you should probably know that you are looking directly at their roots in this album. All of the guys were all still in highschool when this band took off (of course post highschool would find us an array of different projects and bands that would leave a mark on Independent music for ever I.E. American Football) But the blisteringly loud, incoherent, fast paced, beautifully and messily melodic Cap'n Jazz is still considered by most, the very very best of the 20 years and hundreds of albums these four guys would go off to make.

It's Peter

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, i've been too absorbed in the awesome beats i'm bout to bump your way. Hey have you guys ever heard of Tim or Mike Kinsella?
